Welcome to "Your Story", an exciting series where the spotlight is on you, our vibrant community! In this series, we invite you to share your unique experiences, heartfelt anecdotes, and personal reflections on a variety of compelling topics. This months' topic was "What's your most memorable moment at a concert, festival or photo shoot?"!

It was freezing in Berlin when Chappell Roan played her first show here—a tiny club, not more than 400 people, and not a single photographer in sight.

At that point, barely anyone in Germany knew her, so the crowd was packed with UK fans, turning the whole thing into a chaotic, hilarious mess. Everyone had the time of their lives (except for the one person who threw up into the crowd ).

I wasn’t even there as a photographer, but let’s just say… how my camera made it inside will forever remain my little secret .

I didn’t think much of it at the time, but weeks later, my photos started popping up all over Tumblr, Pinterest, and a dozen Instagram pages. Funny how things work out sometimes.

I was running a little late, rushed into the photo pit, and within minutes, Anthony Green was already on the barricade, holding hands with fans, serenading them—then boom, he’s crowd surfing. This shot was my first real “hero shot,” and even years later, it’s still one of my absolute favorites.

Bill Ryder-Jones is one of my very favourite artists, and it was a joy to finally shoot one of his shows, in the superbly-aesthetic Manchester Albert Hall.  It was just before Christmas so there were Christmas trees and extra lights set up, adding to the whole scene.  I decided to head up to the rafters of the venue to get this wide shot, and caught the lights - and Christmas trees! - at a fittingly beautiful moment.  What made this extra special is that BRJ is a strong advocate for talking about mental health, and his music has certainly helped me massively though lower times.  I remember thinking during this show that everyone in attendance, including myself, were all lucky to be sharing in such a brilliant and at-times emotional set.  Magic.

One of my most memorable moments in gig photography was early on, when I got a photo pass for Calva Louise at The Key Club in Leeds. Love Rarely and Bobby Wolfgang were supporting, and Bobby’s energy was electric. With no photo pit, I was in the crowd, trying to capture the chaos as he leapt into the audience and even hung from the ceiling at times. The intensity of that performance, combined with the closeness of the crowd, made it an unforgettable experience.

THANK YOU ALL FOR SHARING YOUR STORIES!
