I'm a passionate music-lover, specialising in the country and alternative scenes. I see story and connection layered in everything, and photography is my way of ensuring those stories live on.
Live music has always been where I see the intersection of energy, connectedness and joy culminate on another level. And helping to play a small role in bringing an artist's vision and dream to life gives me chills. That's why concert photography lights a fire inside me, and why I'd love to be a part of your next project!
I'm drawn to moments of connection like a moth to the light; an artist's eyes twinkling as they realise they've never seen a crowd quite like the one before them, a secret grin shared between band members, the story painted on an artists face as they perform, and the audience feels every last word, the pure energy and joy emanating from a crowd. This is the story I look for and capture with my lens.

I’m a Toronto-based photographer whose fiery passion for music shows up in every frame I shoot. I was raised in small-town Newfoundland, and after falling in love with sixties rock photography, that passion carried me through eight years on the MuchMusic digital team and eventually onto the road, touring the world with award-winning artists.
For nearly two decades, I’ve been chasing the pulse of musicians - coast to coast - capturing both the chaos of live performances and the quieter, unguarded moments behind the scenes. My work is rooted in authenticity and connection, helping artists see their world reflected back to them honestly, whether they’re playing stadiums, tiny clubs, or anything in between.
Alongside my photography work, I co-run 745 Music Inc., a Canadian multi-service company focused on artist strategy and development, with Jay Emmons. I also work as a social media manager for major Canadian bands and festivals, and lead the media team for the Churchill Park Music Festival. In 2026, I was honoured to be nominated for an East Coast Music Award for Best Visual Artist.
My approach is built on trust and presence - capturing artists as they are, in moments that feel lived-in rather than staged.

Jonathan has spent most of his career capturing the debauchery of festivals, clubs, and musicians – something that still occupies a big part of his day-to-day activities.
A firm believer that South Africa offers any photographer a broad, and colourful palette to work with; he incorporated more diversity into his portfolio of portraits, and documentary images: portraying an unassuming, intimate, and playful perspective of his subjects – his ability to find the quirky, and interesting in unusual places, combined with a keen eye for detail, sets him apart.
