NEWS | Sziget Festival 2025

On the Óbudai Island, also known as the "Island of Freedom" right at the center of Budapest, Hungary, the Sziget Festival will return for another year of celebration, diversity and fun from August 6th to August 11th 2025. With prices going up on April 10th at 12am CET you better act fast to grab your ticket for this epic experience.

For over 30 years the Sziget Festival has been constantly evolving to create a safe place for "Szitizens" to be themselves. It’s a place for artists of different genres and cultures to perform across 50 stages. It’s a place for fans of pop, rock, garage rock alternative, indie, R&B, soul, jazz, hip-hop, house, techno, trance and more.

Having hosted stars like Sam Smith, Yungblud, Stormzy, Billie Eilish and MEUTE the festival proves to be a place to see your favorite artists. More than that it’s also a place to find lots of new artists with 1,000 shows spread out over the 6 days of pure celebration. This year's headliners include Charli XCX, Shawn Mendes, A$AP Rocky, and Post Malone. Feel the beat drop and the music vibrating in your chest to Don Diablo and Anyma or dancing to the songs of the queer pop icon herself Chappell Roan.

On the "Island of Freedom", the arts are also a big part of the festival. In venues like the circus, museum quarter or theatre, artists from all over the world can share their talents with like-minded people. At the Cirque du Sziget acrobatic acts and mesmerizing performances will take you to other galaxies. As one of last year's Szitizens said "The island's charm was immediately apparent upon entering via the bridge. The colorful program and the meeting of different cultures created an atmosphere that made it truly special.".

As the name "Island of Freedom" suggests, the festival stands for openness and celebration of cultures, sexual orientations and religions. That’s why there’ll also be speeches and workshops specifically designed to underline and spotlight the values of equality in all matters during the festival. At the ArtGarden numerous exhibitions and installations will invite you to take in the vibrant atmosphere and open your mind to new experiences. Another festival attendee from last year reported that "the Sziget Festival's vibes are unmatched! Whenever I was walking around aimlessly, there was something magical happening at every corner - never a boring minute! And short queues at the toilet which is always a big plus.". And another attendee said "The magical atmosphere on the festival grounds and the incredible acts as well as the undeniably fantastic vibes make Sziget one of my favorite festivals. Everyone was there to have a good time, to relax and get lost in the beats and music. Plus the food variety and chill out areas made Sziget unbeatable.". At the Funfair you truly let your inner child be free while playing tossing games, seeking advice from fortune tellers or watching puppeteers.

The Delta District is where electronic music and culture will be shown like never before on 3 stages with stunning visuals. The dropYard—where you can start your morning with yoga—is the place to be before diving into hip-hop beats and break dance performances from all over the world. When you’re down for some relaxing time you can come to the Sziget Beach, where you can start the day with Tai Chi, listen to singer songwriters or you end your day there with deep house DJs and partying until the sun comes up again. And in case all the dancing, singing and celebrating wasn’t enough there is a Sport Zone to play a match of soccer, compete with your friends or make new ones.
