Hey Lacey, can you please give our readers a brief introduction of yourself?
Hi! I’m Lacey, a Toronto-based photographer specializing in concerts, portraits, and product photography. When I’m not in the midst of a concert pit, you’ll find me in the studio, creating imagery for growing CPG brands.

How and when did you get into music photography?
I'd say it all started in 2011 when I snuck my crop sensor camera into a Down with Webster concert. From there, I began bringing my camera to as many shows as I could, and it quickly became a passion. After college, I took it more seriously, focusing on telling the story of a performance through my lens. Combining my love for concerts with photography felt like a natural fit.
With which camera(s) and lens(es) do you shoot?
I shoot with Canon, using both the DSLR 5D Mark IV and my mirrorless R5. My 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses are my must-haves for any event!

How would you describe your photography & editing style?
My style is vibrant and cinematic, capturing the electrifying energy of live performances with rich tones. Through close-up framing, I focus on performers' expressions and poses, bringing out the intimacy, emotion, and connection they share with their environment.
Who do you usually work for? Bands, labels, agencies, publications, etc.?
So far, I’ve primarily worked with publications.
What are your favorite venues and why?
Venues like HISTORY are the ideal environment to shoot in, with a layout that offers excellent angles from almost anywhere and an intimate atmosphere that captures the connection between performers and the crowd. For summer events, outdoor venues like the Budweiser Stage are my absolute favourite.

What are your favorite festivals and why?
Right now, anything country music! This past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to cover my very first festival, the Cavendish Beach Music Festival. The festival featured a well-rounded lineup and an unbeatable atmosphere, making it truly unforgettable!
What’s the picture you’re the most proud of and why?
A photo I’m most proud of (going by last year’s shows) has to be this shot of Kassi Ashton at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival, taken while shooting for Complete Country. It was one of those moments where, the second I captured it, I knew it was going to turn into a wicked shot.

What's the best purchase you ever made? Or what’s the best workflow hack you discovered?
One of my favorite recent purchases has to be FX filter lenses. They’re a fantastic way to add a touch of extra flair to a photo— so far I love using my starburst filter.
Which bands are still on your bucket list?
The list is still long, but my big three right now are Post Malone, Luke Combs, and Chris Stapleton.
What are your goals / plans for the future?
My ultimate goal is to continue growing as a photographer while also expanding my expertise in videography.Â
