Bilbao se convierte en epicentro musical global con las sesiones exclusivas de KEXP
Del 28 al 31 de octubre de 2025, Bilbao se prepara para convertirse en un epicentro musical de alcance internacional con la llegada por primera vez a España de KEXP, la emblemática emisora pública independiente de Seattle. En colaboración con el festival BIME, KEXP grabará 12 sesiones en directo en la histórica Iglesia de la Encarnación, un espacio arquitectónico del siglo XV ubicado en el corazón del Casco Viejo de la ciudad.
Estas sesiones bilingües en español e inglés reunirán a artistas de primer nivel del panorama musical español, iberoamericano y global, como Los Punsetes, Triángulo de Amor Bizarro, Derby Motoreta’s Burrito Kachimba, Merina Gris, Javiera Electra y muchos más. Las actuaciones serán grabadas y filmadas para su difusión mundial a través de los canales y redes de KEXP, lo que permitirá que los sonidos innovadores de Bilbao y España lleguen a millones de oyentes en todo el mundo.
Este proyecto, que cuenta con el respaldo de Sounds From Spain, AIE, Basque Music, el Ministerio de Cultura y el ICEX, busca no solo mostrar la diversidad y vitalidad de la música independiente española, sino también fortalecer los lazos culturales y musicales con América Latina, posicionando a Bilbao como un nodo central en la escena musical internacional.
Para Bilbao y sus artistas, esta experiencia representa una oportunidad histórica para proyectar su talento y creatividad a un público global, consolidando la ciudad como un referente cultural y musical de primer orden.

Bilbao Becomes a Global Music Hub with Exclusive KEXP Sessions
From October 28 to 31, 2025, Bilbao is set to become an international music hotspot as KEXP, the iconic independent public radio station from Seattle, arrives in Spain for the first time. In partnership with the BIME festival, KEXP will record 12 live sessions at the historic Church of La Encarnación, a 15th-century architectural gem located in the heart of the city's Old Town.
These bilingual sessions in Spanish and English will feature top-tier artists from Spain, Latin America, and around the world, including Los Punsetes, Triángulo de Amor Bizarro, Derby Motoreta’s Burrito Kachimba, Merina Gris, Javiera Electra, and many more. The performances will be recorded and filmed for worldwide broadcast via KEXP’s channels and networks, allowing the innovative sounds of Bilbao and Spain to reach millions of listeners globally.
Supported by Sounds From Spain, AIE, Basque Music, the Ministry of Culture, and ICEX, this project aims not only to showcase the diversity and energy of Spain’s independent music scene but also to strengthen cultural and musical ties with Latin America, positioning Bilbao as a central node in the international music landscape.
