GALLERY & REVIEW | Tusks by Chux On Tour Photography

In the moody, intimate setting of Kantine am Berghain in Berlin, Germany, Tusks (aka Emily Underhill) offered an emotional journey that fused vulnerability with raw sonic power. With Berlin's eclectic crowd in full attendance, she delivered a performance that felt like a collective reverie, casting a spell over the darkly lit room.

Tusks has built a reputation on crafting music that sits somewhere between hauntingly beautiful and gently unsettling. Her live setup was minimalist, placing her emotive voice front and center, supported by delicate, echoing guitars and dark, pulsating electronic beats. Each song built layers of intensity, inviting the audience into an emotional landscape that felt both expansive and intimate.

As her set flowed seamlessly between soft, introspective ballads and more robust, swelling numbers, it became clear that her control over her sound was unwavering. Her performance struck a balance between powerful restraint and vulnerability, each song crafted to draw the audience deeper into the ambiance she meticulously set.

The Berlin crowd, known for its discerning taste, responded with the quiet intensity that mirrored the artist’s style. There was a reverence in the air, each applause beginning slowly as if the crowd needed a moment to resurface from the dreamlike state Tusks had woven.

By the end of the night, Tusks had not only delivered a concert; she had shared a profoundly intimate experience. The synergy of her soundscapes with the venue’s unique atmosphere was mesmerizing, resulting in a performance that left the Berlin crowd in contemplative awe.
