Manchester Psych Fest 2024 was nothing short of a kaleidoscopic journey, weaving together mind-bending music, striking visuals, and an atmosphere that vibrated with creative energy. Held across several of the city’s most iconic venues on August 31st, the festival offered a sensory feast that left us buzzing long after the final note had faded.
From the moment we stepped into the first venue, it was clear that Manchester Psych Fest had outdone itself this year. Every room, from the intimate corners of YES to the expansive stage at The Ritz, was packed with eager festival-goers. While this meant we couldn't catch as many acts as we'd hoped, it was a testament to the festival’s growing popularity and the incredible lineup.
Though the crowds made it tough to see all our must-see acts, they also led to unexpected discoveries that enriched the experience. Wandering into venues where we could find space, we stumbled upon some incredible acts - such as TTSSFU, Thus Love & Molly Payton - that might have otherwise flown under our radar. It’s moments like these that remind you why live music - and festivals, in particular - are such powerful experiences. Sometimes, the best moments come from those unplanned, serendipitous encounters.
Whether it was the intimate, dreamy set from Cloth, the raw, unapologetic energy of Lambrini Girls, or the wild, electrifying performance from Fat Dog, every act brought something unique to the table, keeping the crowd on its toes.
A special shoutout goes to Stu Moulding, who was on the ground capturing all the magic for SHOWGRAPHERS. Stu’s lens has brought the festival’s vibrant energy to life. Until next year, we’ll be cherishing these memories and the incredible visuals that came out of Manchester Psych Fest 2024.
