ABOUT ME
Based in Los Angeles, California, Alexia Abarca is your creative icon. Having studied and practiced the arts for almost a decade, I am versatile in photography, videography, and social media content creation.
My photography adventure began with a birthday gift—my first smartphone—at the age of twelve. I was thrilled and took it with me on a long car trip. I was not fond of long car rides, but on that rainy day, I took some photos of the rain-splattered windows. In 2015, I received my first DSLR camera, a Canon Rebel T5i, as a gift for my 8th-grade promotion. Since then, my camera has been a constant companion, opening doors to exciting opportunities like photographing concerts. My dream was to become a touring music photographer someday.
Currently, I have graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Psychology and Gender Studies. During high school, I was part of the Film and Media Academy, which provided me with numerous opportunities. The academy offered ROP classes in photography and film, preparing students for future careers. I completed certificates in both Intro & Advanced Photography and Intro & Advanced Film, as well as several awards from the County of Los Angeles for video production. My class and I created my first short film, where I served as the director of photography. Additionally, I’ve photographed so many bands and even had my work featured in online magazines and 4 printed magazines.
In July 2020, I co-founded Punkaganda Press with the goal to create a space for marginalized creatives. I am thrilled to share our music publication with you!
In July of 2023, I toured across the U.S. as a photographer with Thriller Records band, Honey Revenge. Many jumps and kicks later, I am itching to go back on the road!
Photography has become a way of life for me. Everywhere I go, I see potential photo opportunities and my portfolio continues to grow along with my skills and story. I can’t wait to share more of my work with you!
Let’s work together! Some say I make them look slay and can edit out a mean microphone stand.
